Head physician of the clinical ethics committee of the University hospital of Zurich
After finishing her studies in medicine, sociology, psychology and politics, Tanja worked as a medical doctor in internal medicine and as research fellow and project leader on ethics in reproductive biomedicine, public health and primary care at the University of Marburg.
Since 2004 she formed part of the ethics liaison service at the University hospital Zurich and was the executive secretary of the research ethics commission. She is member of the German central ethics commission of physicians (ZEKO) since 2007 and speaker of the specialist division of ethics and evidence based medicine of the German Network for evidence based Medicine.
Since 2009 she is head physician of the clinical ethics committee of the University hospital of Zurich at the Institute of Biomedical Ethics. Current research projects focus on the issues of Advance Care Planning, ECMO, Social Injustice and Health and Shared decision Making
